Military-Grade
Protection Standards

Our bunkers are engineered to meet or exceed the most stringent international protection standards — from Swiss Federal nuclear shelter requirements to NATO NBC specifications and U.S. military EMP hardening standards.

Nuclear Fallout

PF 1,000 — FEMA / Swiss Federal Standard

A Protection Factor of 1,000 means radiation exposure inside the bunker is reduced to 1/1,000th of external levels. This requires minimum 24 inches (60 cm) of reinforced concrete with specific density requirements, plus sealed ventilation with HEPA and activated carbon filtration.

Concrete Thickness
24" (60 cm) minimum
Concrete Density
≥ 2,400 kg/m³
Blast Resistance
300 kN/m² (Swiss standard)
Air Filtration

Overpressure Valve
≥ 0.3 mbar positive pressure
Seal Rating
IP68 equivalent

NBC (Nuclear, Biological, Chemical)

NATO STANAG 4447 / EN 1822

Full NBC protection requires a multi-stage air filtration system: pre-filter for large particles, HEPA H14 filter capturing 99.995% of particles ≥ 0.3μm, TEDA-impregnated activated carbon for chemical agents and radioactive iodine, and a positive pressure system preventing infiltration.

Positive Pressure

Decontamination
Airlock with shower

Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP)

MIL-STD-188-125-1 / IEEE C62.45

EMP hardening protects all electronic systems from both nuclear EMP (NEMP) and high-altitude EMP (HEMP) events. This requires a continuous Faraday cage enclosure, surge protection on all penetrations, and shielded cable entries with waveguide ventilation.

Shielding
Continuous welded steel Faraday cage
Attenuation
≥ 80 dB (10 kHz – 10 GHz)
Surge Protection
All penetrations protected
Cable Entry

Ventilation

Testing
MIL-STD-461G compliance

Blast & Ballistic

UFC 3-340-02 / NIJ Standard 0108.01

Blast protection is rated in PSI overpressure resistance. Our standard bunkers withstand 15 PSI (equivalent to being 1.5 km from a 1 MT nuclear detonation). Ballistic protection meets NIJ Level IV, stopping .30 caliber armor-piercing rounds.

Natural Disasters & Climate Events

ICC 500 / FEMA P-361

Our bunkers exceed FEMA safe room standards for tornadoes (EF5, 250+ mph winds), earthquakes (seismic isolation), and flooding (waterproof to 10m hydrostatic head). The Mediterranean location provides natural protection from many extreme weather events.
